Early Life and Education

She was armed with a collaborative spirit from an early age, a critical trait underpinning her lifelong journey in social work. Her first foray into social work and community development began as a teenager when she invested countless hours into creating an arts program for primary school-age children facing suspensions or expulsions.

Prioritizing continuous learning, she amplified her knowledge by attending an arts program for 18 months following her school experience. As an artist, she holds certifications in textile arts stained glass design, and has completed etching, photography, and watercolor painting courses.

Career and Achievements

Her career journey is a testament to her goal-orientedness and innovative approach. Assisting in rescuing young people from human trafficking, her courage and dedication yielded immense gratitude from the individuals she rescued, many of whom reached out to her via social media years later to express their gratitude.

Moreover, she lived and worked with a remote Indigenous community, applying her innovative capabilities to build their community from the ground up, an experience that earned her recognition on United Nations Day for her substantial contribution to community improvement.

Furthermore, Cainer expansive career includes co-establishing a corporation aimed at aiding people in the realization of their dreams and aspirations through robust business plans. She also hosts a TV talk show, The Sharleen Show, designed to bring attention to aspects of community development she is passionate about.

Her hobbies include crafting artwork, designing sustainable homes from shipping containers, and building inspiring environments for children.

She later resigned her position to allow an Indigenous member to take the helm, ensuring the center's operations largely stayed within and benefited the community.
